Mortgage Brokers are Disappearing!
New NMLS Testing Requirements run Mortgage Brokers out of town.
The new Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) is requiring all existing California real estate salesperson, broker, and corporation broker/officer licensees who perform mortgage loan activities in California to pass several requirements, the biggest ones: passing both a national and state exam. Brokers have until January 1, 2011 to meet these requirements to be issued an MLO endorsement and stay in business.
As an example, in Arizona, there are approximately 18,000 mortgage brokers prior to the NMLS requirements passing in July of this year to care for 2.1 million households or 361 households per broker. Post NMLS there will be only 3,200 brokers to service 2.1 million households or 2,031 households per broker! It is expected for California to have a similar outcome.
Turning Point Mortgage and Peter Robbins have already met these requirements by passing the National Exam and the California Exam in the 94th percentile! We're ready for your business.
